Re: Encore-Numbers
I was thinking of this one, but I couldn't remember whether it was "a hundred and ten" or "one hundred and ten." I would have said "one," so I'm glad I didn't try it.Katya wrote:"Seventy-six trombones hit the counterpoint. While a hundred and ten . . ."

Re: Encore-Numbers
I… think I'm gonna have to consider myself out. Which is sad. I thought of several songs today that fit the criteria, only to come in and see they've only been used. [sigh] Oh well, I made it through 10 days! That's awesome for me.

Re: Encore-Numbers
"And though we might like to say, 'We took a wrong turn back in ten sixty-six,' we think it is best to refrain and just say we're the SCA."
"We're the SCA"
"In seventeen seventy-six, my friends, Americans were Englishmen."
Um... apparently Janeen Brady? And I can't find a title. How about "In 1776" or simply "1776"?

The Twelfth Day of Never
Might as well tell you the new restriction now: primes. They don't have to be Mersenne primes unless you really want to.

Re: Encore-Numbers
You didn't need to. You have sufficient with that. But that's good, because if you would've done that, I would've done three ships, and put "I saw three ships go sailing by, on Christmas day, on Christmas day" and been out, so thanks.

Re: Encore-Numbers
Huh. I was sure I'd counted that right. Maybe it was the "bearing gifts" part I couldn't remember. (In any case, I thought it was "travel afar.")Marduk wrote:You didn't need to. You have sufficient with that.
Some day we need to do a (traditional) Christmas carols round so we can really go head to head.Marduk wrote:But that's good, because if you would've done that, I would've done three ships, and put "I saw three ships go sailing by, on Christmas day, on Christmas day" and been out, so thanks.

Today's restriction is that you may not use any numbers that have satisfied the last three restrictions (and when I say any, I mean that it may not appear anywhere in your entry, though it may appear elsewhere in the song).
This means one-word, odd, non-prime numbers only. Mwahahaha.

Re: Encore-Numbers
So basically what you've asked for is songs containing the word nine or fifteen, and no other number within eight words of that number. Seems a tad restrictive.

Re: Encore-Numbers
Didn't you read the "Mwahahaha"? It's supposed to be a "tad restrictive" because I want this round to end before I turn 30. I do have faith in you guys to find something, though. And I shouldn't have said "odd"--I simply meant "not even." That should help a bit.Marduk wrote:So basically what you've asked for is songs containing the word nine or fifteen, and no other number within eight words of that number. Seems a tad restrictive.
