I just wanted to apologize to the rest of you for being a jerk on the Epidurals thread (especially at the beginning). Obviously the topic is a sensitive one for me and so I read the original question in a tone that was quite different than the one the writers meant. I started the thread while I was still upset with the perceived tone of the question, but thought I was not writing antagonistically (definitely opinionatedly, but not antagonistically). However, when I went back and re-read my initial post a day later, I was horrified to see how hostile it sounded.

Apology
(I'm putting this thread in Reader Response since it relates to the epidurals thread).

I promise, it was not my intent to attack anyone specifically, but rather to defend a point I felt strongly about. I'm sorry if anyone felt attacked by my post. I promise, it was not intentional, and I am not normally an antagonistic person. I hope that post won't negatively affect your interactions with me on this message board.

Re: Apology
It's ok. You apologized in that thread and I accepted that and forgot about it. We can still be friends.
and I hope that I wasn't offensive either, as it's a topic I am also, obviously, rather passionate about.

Re: Apology
I just want to "Like" both Rifka's and Dragon Lady's posts here. I love it went people, especially here on the internets, can be mature and recognize when clarification or apology is needed, and then offer and/or accept it depending on their position. And I apologize too, if it seemed I was being unnecessarily defensive. I think epidurals are something a lot of women feel passionately about, especially because it deals with a time when we are going through some of the craziest hormonal changes our bodies will ever experience. I'm just glad we can have an intelligent conversation about it without it being blown completely out of proportion.
Re: Apology
Thanks, Carrapicho. That makes me feel a lot better!
And thanks, Dragon lady for your quick forgiveness. I'm glad we can still be friends!

Ladies please! Can we have a little more fighting and insults? What would dear Hypatia think?

She wouldn't. I would be distracting her with a jar of home canned pickles.Marduk wrote:Ladies please! Can we have a little more fighting and insults? What would dear Hypatia think?
