Board Party
So, is anyone from here going on Friday? My husband is actually out of town, so I think I might come down with my kiddos. And Black Sheep said she is coming (right?). Anyone else?

I have to admit… I have no idea what you're talking about.
Re: Board Party
I'm going to try, but I may not make it since I'm flying home on Saturday and I have a lot to do before then. And DL, there was a survey/announcement on the Board the past couple days.

DL: I didn't either. I'm guessing that if you still read the board, you, like me, read the board through an RSS feed. The front page of the board (that doesn't make it into your feed) has an announcement about a Meet the Writers party at Broiler Express on Friday night at 7pm.Dragon Lady wrote:I have to admit… I have no idea what you're talking about.

I keep telling Yellow that they should make announcements show up in the RSS feed. Apparently he doesn't listen to me. (I probably keep telling him while he's programming and then only 10% of the stuff I say makes it into his head. If I'm lucky. Someday I'll learn not to do that.) Thanks for the ammo to press the issue.

Re: Board Party
So, um, now that you all know there is a Board party tomorrow, I guess my question still stands. Anyone else going?
Re: Board Party
I'll be there.
Re: Board Party
Hey 42, it was really nice to meet you! Thanks for coming. And your kids are so adorable.
And, of course, it was really nice to see everyone else, too. Good times all around.

I agree - good times! It was rather fun to put some faces behind all the names. I was especially grateful that everyone decided to put their actual 'nym on their nametag. I still have a few people I have always wanted to meet, but I got to cross a lot of people off the list last night, which was awesome. Thanks for making me feel welcome, everyone!
And now I guess I have 'nyms for my kids even. Pizza (which is what my son said his name is when asked) and Shy (who ducked under the table instead of answering Gimgimno when he asked).

I was there, and I'm a little disappointed I didn't get to meet anyone. Sad.

D.A.R.E - actually, I saw your nametag on my way in, and thought - cool! I'll have to meet him later - and then by the time my kids finished eating at our table you were gone. But if you noticed someone with toddlers, that was me.
Marduk - Yup. If only the Pizza thing was as consistent, because it is funnier. Well, actually, I am glad he knows his name, but . . . he can be Pizza if he wants to be while he is 5 years old. The best part about Shy girl is that once she warms up to people, she never stops talking.

Re: Board Party
I vote that the next Board party should happen in Dallas/Fort Worth.
Re: Board Party
I second Emiliana's vote! It's much easier for me to get to Dallas/Ft. Worth on short notice than Utah.Especially if the party is in the summer, since I'm on vacation.

Re: Board Party
I really wanted to come, but since I was already driving down to Utah Valley on Saturday and Sunday, I didn't feel like spending the money to drive one more time. I'd love to come to a future event, though.
