I bought an iPad a week or so ago, and I am finding it very entertaining to watch its journey around the world on the UPS tracking site. It's supposed to get here on Thursday.

The Voyage of My iPad
Re: The Voyage of My iPad
Much to UPS's dismay, I'm sure, the Traveling Salesman Problem is an NP hard problem. (Not that the package has to go to a set of cities, as in the conventional statement of the Traveling Salesman Problem, but it's a similar problem given that they have a set of airports to work with and lots of packages with different destinations.)
Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur.

EDIT: pretty much every package shipped by UPS will go through Kentucky; note that I say pretty much.

Well, that explains Kentucky, then. I wonder where it's going to go next? It should end up in Calgary at one point before it gets here, but I do hope it stops in some random place in Saskatchewan or Manitoba before then, because that would be much more interesting.
