Question #64391 Tongues
I want to see how many of us can do this.
I can.
Slightly more disgusting is the fact that if I breathe out of my mouth while touching it, I can get my tongue behind my uvula, and from there into my nasal cavity.

Re: Question #64391 Tongues
I can't do it. And is that unnerving putting your tongue into your nasal cavity? I'm pretty sure I would freak out if I did that.
Re: Question #64391 Tongues
I can. I didn't think it was hard. It seems like many just have really overpronounced gag reflexes. Also, Rating Pending is a chef? This is news to me.

For those that can, can you also touch your nose with your tongue? I can't do either.

Re: Question #64391 Tongues
So, I think the real question is… are we talking about the tip of our tongue? Or the base of our tongue? Neither Yellow and I can touch it with the tip, but both of can with the base. But that seems kind of trivial...
Re: Question #64391 Tongues
Yes. I am talking about the tip. You curl your tongue back and touch it with the very front of your tongue.

Re: Question #64391 Tongues
Have never been able to do any tongue "tricks:" no tongue tacos, no touchin' nothin', no blowing bubble gum bubbles . . . I can bend it back but I don't really think uvulae have nerve endings? I misread "uvula" as something ENTIRELY different in that question and it grossed me out.
Re: Question #64391 Tongues
Does that mean it is time to play the anagram game with the word "uvula?" Because that could get pretty bad pretty fast.

Re: Question #64391 Tongues
My choir teacher in high school wanted UVU's choir to be called the "La's" so that they would be the UVU-La's.
For what it's worth, I still prefer the name UVSC for aesthetic reasons.

i used to be able to that, but, like many of my muscles, my tongue is no longer as flexible. or maybe my mouth just got bigger as i aged.
