Bowties are hot. And a lot of doctors around here wear them so that they can look professional without spreading MRSA all over the place, so they're also functional.

If I were to ever become a professor, I would be the sort that wore bowties. And socks with sandals. At the same time. I would also find things "terribly interesting." And donate a small portion of my paycheck to public radio. Also, tweed jackets with elbow patches. And my hair would be longish and unkempt. But not as longish and unkempt as my facial hair. Also, I would use French phrases casually in conversation. And my office hours would be very erratic.

The end.

And Marduk would never be a BYU professor. :D

And I love bow ties. But you definitely need the personality for it.

My grandpa was famous for his bowties. He made them himself and he had a few hundred. And he was a professor. But he was bald for as long as I knew him, so no long, unkempt hair.
Actually, I have a few of his bowties now (we all got a few as a sort of inheritance) and I wear them in my hair every so often.
