I agree. But I think the wizard does actual harm to Elphaba as well. But if others disagree, I'd be happy to put up a different song.

I think there can be more than one villain (although I'm not familiar enough with Wicked to say if the wizard counts).

Has anyone gotten out yet? We haven't been doing a tally of who is still in every day. (But maybe that typically doesn't get done till later in the game, and I just don't know cuz I never make it past day 1 or 2?) I'm just wondering if by having a list here it means I'm doing great, or if it means that everyone is doing great and still holding on strong.

Cindy's out. And C4 and Duckie will be if they don't chime in soon.

And in: DC, Rifka, Defy V, DL, Katya, Imogen, Tao, and Bob.

"Since 793* our strategy's been clear: go get stuff from over there and bring it over here. What, what, what is up with Lyle?"
—Olaf from VeggieTales.

*I might be wrong on the date, but I definitely have 8 consecutive words towards the end.

I'd probably accept this, but I'm curious, does pouring slushies on people and yelling insults at them constitute as doing harm to the protagonist? I wouldn't really say that they're villains.

But this does raise a point I've been meaning to ask… what does make a villain? Because the rules say the Phantom isn't, and I can't for the life of me figure out why not.

I assumed it was because the Phantom is the main character and the villain is defined (for the purposes of this game) as being in opposition to the main character.

I had the same reasoning as Katya. Now that we're past the obvious villains, I'm starting to have trouble drawing the line (not that I've said anything . . . school's kept me sort of busy). Like, is Jekyll/Hyde a villain? Both the protagonist and the antagonist? And now that Veggie Tales is in there, well . . . I'm actually much more inclined to count the peas as villains than Olaf (especially because he turns out so friendly at the end, and he wasn't consistently harmful to Lyle). The entries for today are fine, but I may be a bit more stringent in the future.

So, as a reminder: a villain is someone who consistently or eventually causes harm to the protagonist.

As for my entry for today: "In the pool so nice and cool so juicy sweet . . ."

-Gollum, "The Fish Song"

(and he counts, at least as an eventual villain. I mean, he frames Sam, sends Frodo to be eaten by a giant spider, and bites off his finger.)

Heh, I was just thinking of that song, though I would have gone with "there's no possible way, to describe how you feel, WHEN YOU'RE TALKIN TO YOUR MEAL!"

Aaaand I've got to go with much more than 8 words on this one, I rather enjoy the way they portray Satan's last attempts to thwart the atonement.

"You're not the only one/ who is your father's son.
Give up and call it done/ there is no need to suffer longer.
You've shown your willingness/ to prove you are the best.
You've really passed the test/ so leave the job to someone stronger.
I sense your Father hears you/ how come he's not here near you?
Could it be that he fears you/'ll let him down and his plan with it. (Had to look this one up, really does sound like "it" no clue what the antecedent is.)
So just confess it scares you/ Nothing could quite prepare you
This will not work how dare you?!/ I'm the only one who's master here!"
