Election
I am unsatisfied with the offerings for 2012. I certainly don't think my life is better than it was four years ago, so there's a strike against Obama's tenure. Except for Huntsman and Romney, however, I think that the other candidates could have a shot at being diagnosed as pathologically insane. I really wish that Obama had to face a primary challenge, and/or that the Republicans as a party didn't strike me as being particularly slimy and unlikable in the past couple of years. I don't really feel the need to "take back" the country from anyone, a la Tea Partiers or Occupiers of Wall Street, but I am unsatisfied with domestic policy, especially economically (foreign policy has vastly improved under Obama, clearly). What are other factors to be considered at the ballot box, especially the interactions between Congress and the Executive? I'm socially fairly liberal, fiscally conservative, anti-war, and prefer the private sector but don't want to firebomb the Federal Government. I think Huntsman is probably closest to my views, but I don't think he has a shot at the nomination.
