That's pretty neat! I was curious what company actually manufactured that huge CCD (I assume specinst bought components and put them together in their business, not manufacture all the components themselves) but the site appears to be getting so much traffic that their servers are currently swamped as I can't connect.

Yup. I don't think that they are used to the amount of traffic that Gizmodo can bring. Considering that they probably only get a few hits on a typical day.
