To clarify, can you point out which professions already used would not count, under this rule? (Not that you're applying the rule retroactively, I just want to understand where you're drawing the line.)

King, queen, roller derby queen, gambler, prophet, and wizard would not count. There's probably at least one other on the list that doesn't work either, but I don't know enough about how they get paid to eliminate it/them entirely.

It's more the fact that, in my mind, they can do absolutely nothing and still get money. It isn't all that advisable to do absolutely nothing because the mobs will come with their pitchforks, but they could still get away with it for a pretty long while.
And besides, the king or queen would be more likely to be the mystery guest than a normal contestant anyway.

Maybe I should have the terms "respected professional" and "profitable" (no pun intended)? Just because Mom and Dad gave you an allowance does not mean you were salaried, after all.


Basically, people, if you know or know of someone making an honest living doing it, I'll count it. If not, you can still play it, but be prepared to argue for it.

No, if the majority of people who have had that role haven't formally made a living at it (including the person in the song), then you shouldn't count it by default.

(I do love how Encore rounds end up devolving into the most random arguments, such as whether "na-na-na-na-na-na-na" counts as one word or seven.)
