Wandering around in the dark without my glasses on makes everything look like the eye of sauron.
Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
I sign one online petition, and now I get thrice-daily emails about "so-and-so is killing whales!" As they should - HAVEN'T YOU READ MOBY DICK? Seriously, do-gooders, this should be "opt-in," not "opt-out." Why this is more annoying to me than corporate advertising, I don't know: probably that I am aware if I give a clothing chain my email, to be prepared.

We get all sorts of solicitations for charity, and they come with free gifts — personalized mailing labels and world maps and stickers and such. Just because we gave to this certain charity once. We're too poor to give to all of them, and that postage and specialty printing has got to be expensive.

On Tuesday I spent the day at cub scout camp, and while it was incredibly fun, I'm glad I only signed up for one day.

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
I realized today that I haven't been on here for a week or two. So I checked. And was overwhelmed at all the new stuff. So… after responding to one thread, reading one more, then reading 4-5 pages on here (and writing this) I think I'm gonna go do something else for awhile. Otherwise I'll waste all day here.
And to respond to krebscout, I know! We gave to one charity once and had mailing labels for ages. We moved before we'd used 1/3 of them. (We don't mail many things.) And Yellow doesn't go by his full first name, so having address labels with that on it was just weird. And sometimes they would spell my name wrong. (Which is a very common thing to do.) And now I can't use them anyway because we have a new address. If it happens again, maybe I'll just let Dragon Baby use them as stickers for a chore chart or something.
And then there are the notepads and recipe cards and stickers and whatever else they can fit inside an envelope the takes me feel guilt for not sending them even more money. (But the fact that one gift brought me 10 full trees worth of junk mail in a year makes me want to never give to those charities again with my new address.)
Oh, but the ones that I really hate? The ones that attach a nickel or dime inside. I mean, I can't really throw it away. I can, but it seems just … wrong. And I don't really want to open it just to take out the coin that is practically worthless.

As Adobe is my witness, I will master the pen tool!

Frustrating, I know, but so worth it. Which program are you using, and what are you doing with it?Katya wrote:As Adobe is my witness, I will master the pen tool!

I'm in Illustrator and right now I'm just practicing tracing things.krebscout wrote:Frustrating, I know, but so worth it. Which program are you using, and what are you doing with it?Katya wrote:As Adobe is my witness, I will master the pen tool!
I'm going through a coal hole cover phase, so today's tracing challenge was this (minus the text):

Here we go again.
BYU enterprise servers are scheduled for semi-annual software updating beginning Monday, July 16, at 12:01 a.m. and continuing until 2:00 a.m. The majority of university computer systems, including myBYU and associated services, will be unavailable during portions of that time. This includes, but is not limited to, all services that require logging in using Central Authentication Services (CAS).

Got to love a 12 hour workday, especially when said workday consists entirely of physical labor. I keep discovering new knots and aches in my back...

I saw various bugs/spiders in my apartment today and now I keep imagining something is crawling on my leg... D:

The correct answers are Mexican Coke and grapefruit perrier.

Um, what was the question?Portia wrote:The correct answers are Mexican Coke and grapefruit perrier.
Deus ab veritas
Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
Marduk, maybe if you read the Board you would've known the question. ^_-
Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
But, but, but, neither of those are selectable answers!
But Mico had it right.

Today I made a really stupid mistake. I can't go into details and it probably won't matter in the long run, but boy do I feel dumb.

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
I know the feeling. I did something a couple days ago that probably hurt a friend of mine a bit, and while I'm sure she's forgotten it entirely, I'm still having a hard time forgetting about it myself. Not fun.Katya wrote:Today I made a really stupid mistake. I can't go into details and it probably won't matter in the long run, but boy do I feel dumb.

Which gangster did you kill, and what was the weapon?Marduk wrote:Um, what was the question?Portia wrote:The correct answers are Mexican Coke and grapefruit perrier.
Actually, those are the right answers to any question.
