None of your measly food problems are anywhere near as gross as OUR PERFORMANCE IN LAST NIGHT'S HOLY WAR.

Meh. Huge improvement over last year, at least.

When my brother was a toddler, he somehow decided that the potatoes in the house belonged to him. We kept them in a drawer that he could easily reach, so he used to open the drawer and take them and put them various places. (I have specific memories of putting his toys back in his toy box while also pulling the potatoes out of it.) Anyway, occasionally he'd take one and hide it somewhere and we wouldn't find it until it started to smell.

carrots go like liquid when they rot and I find it gross and curious (like could you drink it? easier than blending!)

Dear kid wearing a pocket square at the YSA fireside,
Your pocket square matches your tie. But you wear it with no class. And look like a doof.

It seems sadly ironic that when someone makes a hateful film showing Muslims as violent, the reaction by some of them is...extreme violence. I wonder if any of the pillagers gets a whiff of the irony.

What determines whether a pocket square/tie combo is worn with class?

If the pocket square is worn so that it comes out of the pocket with any sense of organization, (i.e. not a poorly folded square shoved 3/4 way into a pocket), and the gentleman in question has his hair combed, then that is enough class for me. (He also should probably have his shirt tucked. I can't remember if this kid did or not.)

Sometimes, I want to passive-aggressively categorize Board questions under "Strange Things People Do," even though there's a better category for it.

Oh man. I feel like this a lot. (Not about categorizing, obviously.)

I think it was Humble Master who used to put comics under "Classic Literature."

Good news: The PDF I'm cataloging has CIP data*.

Bad news: It's in Croatian. (The document is in English.)

*CIP data is the cataloging information that is usually printed on the back of the title page. When it's present, it makes cataloging a book a lot easier, because you basically just have to transcribe what's printed.

So my nutjob roommate moved out, taking my favourite pillow, which is irreplaceable due to the fact that I made it out of an XXXL t-shirt I won from coming 49th in the nation for a chemistry contest in high school. I'm so unbelievably ticked off right now.

I actually just came to complain about my roommate who spends hours a day in inane skype calls with her boyfriend, even though they both live in Provo. But she doesn't steal my stuff, so I'm feeling pretty good now. Thanks, Zedability.

Said roommate also used to yell in Korean at 3 am, wouldn't shower or change her clothes for days on end, talked to herself all the time, totally took over my room and the living room, turned the fridge into something from Upton Sinclair's The Jungle, and generally was extremely annoying. I never really found a good moment to address the concept of flushing used toilet paper down the toilet, as opposed to using, um, alternative methods of disposal. Etc. So having her move out is worth losing the pillow. I'm still annoyed about it, though.

/angry rant

My new roommate is skyping her friends at midnight, but otherwise she seems sane.
