I think it usually increases female's hotness and decreases men's. And I can personally attest that I have had plenty of male Board writers chat with me about how they thought you were attractive, and wanted to/attempted to flirt with you at parties and such, with varying degrees of success. So you definitely have sex appeal, for what it's worth.UffishThought wrote:I have a theory that it red hair pushes you further to either side of the attractiveness spectrum. Of course, I feel like I'm somewhere in the middle, and I know several other average-looking redheads, so I don't even really believe my own theory.

Hmmm I think redheaded guys are very attractive, but there's no accounting for taste.

My brother's beard is red but his hair is blond. Are there any guys like that on this board?

What? Dang, I am sometimes oblivious. Well, tell them thanks for me. And sorry that I wasn't more helpful.Portia wrote:And I can personally attest that I have had plenty of male Board writers chat with me about how they thought you were attractive, and wanted to/attempted to flirt with you at parties and such, with varying degrees of success.

My dad's hair is dark brown, my husband's hair is black, but both of them have dark red hairs when they have facial hair.

I think we board writers need to follow our own advice, clearly. Go for the elbow, fellas!UffishThought wrote:What? Dang, I am sometimes oblivious. Well, tell them thanks for me. My dad is a redbeard too! When he grew his crazy beard last summer, it was red and grey. (No, not a midlife crisis. Just an inability to shave because he had poison oak on his face. My mom hated it. I didn't think it was so bad, but when he shaved again he looked about 20 years younger, so maybe she had a point.mic0 wrote:My dad's hair is dark brown, my husband's hair is black, but both of them have dark red hairs when they have facial hair.

Here's the original post I found these in, which explains further. Brighter means more, redder means more female.

Re: Gingers vs Redheads
I've never been called a ginger, and I've never associated ginger with anything other than Harry Potter. Though, in that case it was being used as a nickname from a werewolf to his captive. So, not entirely flattering.
Also, it's been years since I've been commonly thought of as a redhead. Which makes me sad because I feel like a major part of my identity has been ripped from me.

Huh. I hadn't thought of it before, but my cousin is, too.

So is my aunt. And Aunt Ginger's grand-daughter is named after her, and she is blond. All colors of Gingers!Portia wrote:My mom's cousin is a brunette named Ginger.
