I think the wiki is a little outdated i that regard - having read about thise girls before, they have been really private growing up in the past, but have just recently done more public things.

The best part of the article is where it says they live private lives, right before talking about their reality show. This is why I heart Wikipedia.

It just gets stranger.
I am absolutely certain that when you die, you go to St. Peter and he asks you the following questions:

1. Did you promote Glee in any way, shape, or form?

2. Are you transporting with you any fruits or vegetables?

3. Have you recently been in close contact with livestock?

4. What did you do, specifically, to stop the spread of snakes on the Earth?

1. Yes.
2. Yes.
3. No.
4. Nothing.

This doesn't bode well for my afterlife.

Does looking at art count as watching? Because the painter who created this is definitely one of my favorite contemporary impressionists.

Neil Young has got to be the ugliest singer alive. But he's still awesome.

High Noon

I've been haphazardly trying to broaden my film horizons, so I picked this out when I saw that it was available on Netflix Instant. I really enjoyed it! It's very tight—the entire action of the film takes place in less than two hours and the last hour of the film takes place in real time. Unfortunately, this film is famous for subverting aspects of its genre, which may mean that I still haven't seen a prototypical western.

Thank you for linking me to that article, Katya! My thoughts follow.

I had heard some about the new Etsy changes, but having heard most of them from Regretsy and not thinking about them much aside from that, I had a negative view of them. After reading this article, I have to admit that I have more good feelings, though I do still have some doubt.

I'm one of the sellers they are talking about, the ones who use Etsy as a springboard to something else. Or at least I'm heading that direction. I've been wanting to build my own website for a while now, as I was starting to see limits to what Etsy could do for me and wanted to have a backup long before it was needed. I've also been operating in something of a grey area - I currently have several people who have helped me and could help me make bracelets in the future, and my mother has been all but officially hired to handle wholesale orders. We've also been wanting to train an assistant duct taper for a while, and I'm worried that going into this holiday season without one is going to cause some problems. I can do a lot of work myself, but with my sister in school and no one else to help me with even shipping or organization it's probably going to be a tough holiday season. (Yet another reason why I'm glad I still haven't gone back to school.)

However, I can also see the other side. When Dickerson's plans for the future were discussed on Regretsy, it was assumed that the entire motive behind the changes was to make resellers Etsy legal, thus bringing in hundreds of thousands of dollars more for the company while devaluing the marketplace with factory-produced goods. Without extremely clearly written policies and ways to determine exactly how goods for any given shop were made, not to mention a huge staff allowance to monitor and investigate shops, it's likely that no matter what the true intentions of these changes are they will also serve to grow the resellers. Meanwhile, legitimate sellers are being scared off to Etsy rivals or putting making their own website at the top of their priorities.

All in all, I think I would like Etsy to move in a more pro-business direction, because that's what will serve me the best (and I am completely lost in trying to start up a website, despite having devoted hours to the subject). I think they can, if they try enough, come up with ways to serve the bigger businesses while also serving the stores that never have a need for more than one employee (the owner). I appreciate that Etsy is a fairly well-built site with a lot of tools, and can be easily adapted for the hobbyist who makes hair flowers or the high-end jewelry designer who makes $60,000 in a bad month, and would at least like to stay with them as long as possible.
The Epistler was quite honestly knocked on her ethereal behind by the sheer logic of this.

I never heard of the band Joy Zipper before today, but I like the melody of the song 1 that I heard on a commercial for HMOs.

Just saw the latest episode of Dr Who.

I feel like Stephen Moffat is great at creating fantastic monsters and interesting story arcs, but has trouble wrapping them up. But this last episode had a wrap-up, and I liked it. I feel so proud of him.

I did too. I was expecting it about the whole time, and didn't end up too disappointed.

Also I didn't hate River in this episode.

She does tend to bug me. Her perfect compatibility for the Doctor too often seems forced, and same goes for her general perfection as a character.

But something about this episode worked a lot better for me. Probably because she's so far along in her timeline. And also the dynamic between her and Amy and Rory seemed more believable.

But who knows, maybe I was predisposed to like this episode.
