Heh, did I tell you about the time when an acquaintance, upon hearing I was inactive, sent me some unsolicited advice in the form of my answer from http://theboard.byu.edu/questions/55906/? "Have you ever heard of the 100 Hour Board I really like this second answer blahbity blahbity blah!"
Also, in retrospect, I should have realized this was you, and all I can think to say is that a great many inactive people, myself included, thought it was worth it until it wasn't. Obviously I know more inactive people who have been in this situation than active ones, but I think you should do what is giving you the most benefit, because outside of belief, that's kind of all you're getting. If you are uber stressed, it's probably not worth it, and you can take your positive energy to make positive impacts elsewhere. If you aren't uber stressed and the other positive effects of church make up for the stress, then stay. You can and should reevaluate either situation after you've made a decision for the present moment.
Also, for the record and less for you, I don't think it's worth it to stay to avoid upsetting family. Family members, at least the adult ones, are grown ups, and they are capable of acting like it or you are capable to making them less involved in your life. Nobody should put themselves through lots of undue stress to avoid rocking the boat.
Would you stay in the Church?
