Portia's Google Doodle question

I'd call it Cartoon Modern (http://cartoonmodern.blogsome.com), and it was definitely the in-vogue style for mid-century illustrators like Jim Flora and Charlie Harper and animated cartoons, particularly from Hanna-Barbera. And yes, it's pretty stylish now. Matte Stephens is a great contemporary example.

As was I! Just goes to show that art is indeed a bona fide field, with history and specialized knowledge required. Love Charley Harper. Anyone is welcome to send me a Charley Harper calendar.

Now that I seem to have single-handedly validated the arts for Portia, I have to confess that I know very little art history and even less illustration history, so I would not at all be surprised to hear disagreement from someone who knows what they're talking about.

Also, I want that book, too.

I had no idea what I was talking about, but it seemed like the other writers weren't any more knowledgeable, at Lear the ones I talked to, so I figured if you were going to get a crappy answer, the least I could do was not wait like 200 hours to verify that nobody would answer it.

How, how, Zedabilia! mend your speech a little,
Lest it may mar your fortunes.
