Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
oh, you should watch a Chinese movie. I recommend In the Mood for Love.
But yeah, fortune cookies, telling people their chinese zodiac animals, lucky red envelopes with money (or mafia cards, whatever) in them, and lots of delicious chinese food. What are the traditional Chinese New Year's foods in China?

I dunno. I thought that they ate moon cakes for New years, but that's actually mid-autumn festival, and I can't remember what kind of pastry they actually eat.

Have a cake with one of those spinny flower candles on it.

I celebrated Chinese New Year with some friends last year and we lit these things http://www.flyingwishpaper.com/. I don't know if they're Chinese but it's still tons of fun to watch people freak out as the fire gets close to their hand.

If one more person answers "yes" to a "how many?" question in the forms I'm entering at work, I'm going to go insane.

And then sometimes I start researching tablets that I can't afford and call it work.
(To be fair, the only reason why I want a tablet is for my business...)

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
My only real idea is that I would really like to have something digital to show off pictures at events instead of having to print pictures and arrange a physical portfolio. However, if I can do that with a smartphone (which I already have to get so I don't have to borrow my aunt's phone to use Square), I don't see why I would need a tablet. Aside from a new toy. Which I can't afford. : )

I bought my kindle in order to watch the Lizzie Bennet Diaries and it works great for that purpose.

I bought my Kindle mostly to, you know, read e-books? I guess that's cliche. I'm not as hipster as C4.

My father-in-law works for Microsoft and got a Surface for free. His wife played with it for a few weeks, then decided to buy an iPad.Giovanni Schwartz wrote:Just a plug for my Surface: I love it.

It has a steeper learning curve than an iPad, but... Well, partly I'm an Apple troll. But I've hated every Apple product I've ever used, and I've used them extensively.

After reading this story I'm not feeling so charitable towards apple either. http://www.silveroakcasino.com/blog/ent ... inger.html

Marx has a Nexus 7 with Android and loves it. I don't find Android particularly intuitive, but I can get by on it.

I made a rule to get myself to exercise that I can only watch Heroes on Netflix when I'm riding the stationary bike. Unfortunately, I really want to watch Heroes right now, but I have 0 desire to get on that stupid bike for 43 minutes. #1stworldproblems

Is there a word that's an antonym for hipster? Like, for someone who only gets into things long after they were cool?
