Is the GPS on a smartphone not sufficient?

And I didn't know geohashing was a thing.

Don't have a smartphone :P

It's apparently a fairly large thing. Fairly large...meaning...well...small.

Haven't we already had this discussion? TTWS is still totally acceptable here.

Regardless. Geohashing. Perhaps on the next three day weekend I'll give it a shot, if anyone would like to join me.

I've been vaguely planning on just doing it as soon as the spot of the day is within easy enough biking distance. Although, if anyone who wants to participate has a car, I'm absolutely down for picking a day and going.

I have a car... I would be willing to transport up to 5 people.

So we potentially have room for ten people. If I can convince my (FHE) brother.

I'm interested in going, if there's still room enough for me, and if it's okay to invite myself..........

Yep. I'm voting for the Friday night. Mostly because it'll be the optimal time to do stuff.

Oh- never mind. The five seats would be filled with all the non-lurkers and violet. I'll catch you guys next time... :-)

Well, if it is extra transportation you require, I suppose I could come and drive as well.

(which is only three extra seats, as bob insists on going wherever I go.)

squirrel, I think there'll be room--it's just a matter of inviting friends with cars.

Thanks, Tally M. !
Just to clarify (I'm the kind of person that needs clarification) - the plan is to go Friday night, most likely hiking will be involved(which means we'll be hiking in the dark), we're not going to Arizona, we won't be gone for any longer than four hours, and we don't all need to check out a GPS from the HBLL. Did I get all that right?

While we're clarifying, I ought to clarify that I don't get off work until around 7:30 (depending on how long it takes for us to clean up), so I probably can't go if we're leaving significantly in advance of 8:00.
