So you had to do all your work on campus computers? Weren't you paranoid that someone would look over your shoulder and figure out who you were?

Uffish was the best at anonymity! (I still haven't stumbled across her real name, FWIW. I have for most of the writers from the latter half of her era.)

I'm so bad at anonymity. I used to answer questions during advertising class. Now it's sort of funny because advertising has taken over my life and I'm not even at quota. also, a certain writer friend of mine discusses board stuff with me all the time, in public places. I'm surprised we haven't gotten caught.
Re: Answers I liked
Hmm. It seems to me that considering how 70975 kept saying how it's so stressful being a Writer, you need to hire some more writers to ease the load
Re: Answers I liked
I'm not that good at subtlety, am I?!

You're behind on your information, though. I retired years ago.

I should clarify. I would probably recognize your name if I saw it, but I haven't made the connection that your name=Uffish. After all, I've been friends with Katya, krebscout, chilly, Sky Bones, TBS, and various others at different points in the past,UffishThought wrote:Really? Huh. Now I feel all mysterious.

Oh. I read "I've" as "I'm" I have to admit that I was really surprised that you'd let that slip.UffishThought wrote:The Pa Grape meetings were more pep talks along the lines of "guys, answer your 8 questions a week already, and do a good job with it." I sympathize more now that I've been the editor in charge of hiring and firing, but as a brand-new and very timid writer, those meetings scared me.
The "clean out the inbox" gatherings started much later. I didn't have a laptop then, so I wasn't very involved whenever those happened.

Well, there was the question where Sky Bones retired that said Art Vandelay is the new head editor...
Re: Answers I liked
oh wow. *deletes Art's application that was filled out just last night*
If I somehow, by some miracle, get hired, I can't date my boss.

I stll like changing the subject of my posts.
Mods, maybe we should make a new thread.
My bishop's wife wanted to set me up with someone once. I asked her who. She said my old boss's name. I told her "very no."

Re: Answers I liked
it's a good thing you checked who you were going with. That could get awkward very fast.

I just looked over that post. I didn't see Art Vandelay's name in there.....Giovanni Schwartz wrote:Well, there was the question where Sky Bones retired that said Art Vandelay is the new head editor...

And even if he did replace Sky Bones he wouldn't be the head editor.

Well, he is AN editor. I know this for certain. (See: 69547)

Fascinating. It had never occurred to me that BYU's status as an unusually large private school would make it a leader in the number of out-of-state students, but it makes sense.

There definitely used to be a part of that that said "Best up-and-coming editor" award.
