I'm pretty sure BYU just put it up online and you have to download it yourself. At least that's what they do for the full-timers. The IRS help line is actually really good, if you don't mind being on hold forever.

I think you might be able to go to BYU's site and print it out yourself, assuming by tax stuff you mean W2s and the like. Go to myBYU and under the work link there should be the option to view and print out your W2. And the 1098T is there somewhere as well, usually in your financial center I think.Zedability wrote:BYU HAS NOT SENT ME ANY TAX STUFF OR IF THEY HAVE I HAVEN'T RECEIVED IT YET AND I LEAVE FOR THE MTC IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AND I HAVE NO ACCESS TO AMERICAN TAX HELP IN CANADA AND I AM STRESSING OUT.thatonemom wrote:Doing my taxes makes me feel very accomplished. This page from the IRS might be helpful. Especially the stuff at the bottom under Foreign Student and Scholar Income Tax Returns. It's a little jargony, though. If you're stuck I'd really recommend calling the IRS once you get your W-2 and any other tax paperwork together. Their number is 1-800-829-1040. I wish I could help because I like doing taxes, but I'm crap with international student ones. Maybe some of the other Canadian writers would be helpful?Zedability wrote:BYU HAS NOT SENT ME ANY TAX STUFF OR IF THEY HAVE I HAVEN'T RECEIVED IT YET AND I LEAVE FOR THE MTC IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AND I HAVE NO ACCESS TO AMERICAN TAX HELP IN CANADA AND I AM STRESSING OUT.thatonemom wrote:Doing my taxes makes me feel very accomplished. Also, yay for refunds!

No, the other Canadian writers are American citizens and have lived in the states their whole lives, they just do the same thing you do. I'll go look that stuff up this weekend, along with all the other why-did-I-procrastinate-mission-prep stuff.

Ok, one last thing and then I'll stop posting a million times...
This is the website BYU International Services links to for tax help for international students. You have to click the arrows in the middle, about 2/3 of the way down the page. It took me way too long to figure that out. It is MUCH easier to understand than anything put out by the IRS. Of course, I can't say anything about how accurate it is, but I tend to trust the BYU International Services website

I feel like everything generally related to the International Services website is way more confusing than anything on any other BYU sites. Every time I have to find something on there I find myself speaking, "English is my first language and I STILL have no idea what's going on here."

It's amazing what a walk, a romp in the park with your fiance and your puppy, and a game of basketball on a cool, sunny morning can do for your mental health.

Weird. I was on Amazon looking for some khaki iron-on patches and among the used listings for one set of two 5"x5" patches, which mostly ranged from $1.07 + $4.50 S&H to $3.68 + $0.00 S&H, there's this one merchant called "Stuff4" selling the two-pack of 5"x5" khaki iron-on patches for $76.79 + $12.04 S&H. And their seller rating is 96% positive. Strange.

That reminds me of this automatic price war. (Probably not what's happening here, but hey, there are some absurd ways to set prices.Digit wrote:Weird. That entomology thing sounds familiar. I frequently click on news of the weird.
I hope it was a mistake, but can't rule out scammers throwing a hail Mary. Of course I myself took the $3.68 one.
Of course the price update daemons are fully watching everything. Those $3.68 patches are now $3.73. I just looked at what I recently bought.

Any cold treatment suggestions? Throat dry and swollen, nasal cavity dry too, headache city.
I always used to just wait them out, but if I can get rid of this faster or at least hurt a little less, I'd be thrilled.

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
that sounds like more of a sinus thing. Blast with mucinex + ibuprofen, humidify your surroundings (which might mean boiling a pot of water off), and I guess drink stuff.

Re: Happy Days in Random Chatter 10
I was on campus yesterday (which is not something I say often) and saw a girl with a hat much like the one the lady in Portia's avatar wears. Then, I saw a kid with longer (for BYU) hair and a beard, and automatically thought of the Che/Marduk one. Because obviously anyone on campus is secretly someone from the bb.
