The bisque character in this semester's show was actually a repeat appearance. He first popped up about a year ago as the proprietor of a bisque restaurant (surprise surprise) who frustrated a customer to no end. (I'd link to the video, but it doesn't appear to be on YouTube. Anne informs me that it'll probably be re-released via Studio C.) He was instantaneously recognizable when he showed up at the flower shop, which would explain why people had such an immediate reaction. However, as far as I know, the skit isn't a reference to anything other than itself.
