Seriously. I think Boyd K. Packer declaring feminists a threat has scared far too many women away from identifying as feminists, even when their ideas line up almost exactly with what feminism is.

The people who are afraid of feminists are people who are afraid that women are going to treat men like men have historically treated women.

I don't think that's the only thing going on, but yes, that's definitely part of it.

How is believing in the (again, biologically neutral) fact of female creation feminist? I consider myself a feminist, but I feel like you have to be steeped pretty far in the patriarchy to think that men ("and men alone day!") will be some sort of creator gods in the afterlife. It reminds me of a lady too timid to speak up in a group project or boardroom meeting. I know that I can be very assertive (#understatement) and therefore insensitive to the needs of my fellow females, but the question just made me do a headdesk. It's like ... so abundantly obvious to me. That equality DNE "feminism." That's like ... basic decency, circa 1800.
