I know that the question asker was likely just trying to get some in-depth political debate/analyzing going, but I'm a little sensitive on the subject of which party's platform is more in line with the gospel; I have not only heard of the ridiculous arguments like the ones Concealocanth mentioned being used seriously but have personally had my standing in the Church called into question by family members because of the political party I agree with the most.
Guys, when that letter about the Church's neutrality is read over the pulpit, take it to be truth. The gospel is not Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, or anywhere in between. While your moral/religious views will certainly color your political views, they are separate parts of life. Let's not try to drag one into the other.

Mormons and politics
The Epistler was quite honestly knocked on her ethereal behind by the sheer logic of this.
Re: Mormons and politics
The One True Party is obviously Die Grüne. Sorry, Bob.

Party on, Portia; party on, Bob.
