I'm sorry to see Rating Pending go. He will be missed.

With a third kid on the way, I'm not surprised. Good show, RP!

Yes, mixed feelings. Like a fine wine, he improved as a writer with time, in my opinion, and he was always strong.

I'm probably more sad to see him go than most. He was my probie. (Maybe my only one? If you were my probie and I've forgotten, please forgive me. And then tell me.) So I'm like a pseudo-momma in my pride. Every time he wrote an awesome answer (which was often), I swelled up and thought, "That's my boy!" And now it feels like he grew up and went to college or something. Except I don't even get him back for holidays. I suppose there's always Alumni Week...

I hesitated before clicking approve on his retirement answer because I figured if it didn't post he couldn't retire. I'm experiencing a bit of denial.

I'll miss him too. He did good work, and provided many well-thought-out, balanced answers to questions that really needed them.

At the same time, I'm excited to see where new editorship takes the Board, and glad that new writers will have to be hired to take up the slack. Writing was a good experience for me--it made me do deep thinking that I wouldn't have done otherwise and introduced me to friends that I wouldn't have otherwise. I hope it's as good an experience for the new guys to come.

Is there an easy way to make those cards, or did you all Photoshop them yourself?

See this question.
