Vorpal, you're younger than my dad, but older than my mom. But I'm not sure that's saying much as the common joke in our family is that my dad is older than dirt.

My dad was 40 when I was born (well, turned 40 a couple months later, anyway). I'm very much the youngest of my very spread-out family.

Oddly, my dad is about the same age as Yellow's dad. And Yellow is the oldest. That story, however, is that his dad didn't get married until he was 35. And then Yellow wasn't born for a couple of years after that. (His mom was 23, though, so she's much younger than the other parents.)

I didn't know Yellow père was a menace to society. Is there a story there? Or just didn't find the right woman til 35?

Vorpal is also my parents' age as well. There's quite a difference in age, generally, between the oldest child of an oldest child, and the youngest child of a youngest child, even though both are two generations.

Yes, and it has interesting effects on what you think of as pop culture. I met a guy at a party who is my dad's girlfriend's age (43). My dad is 45, my mom would have been 47 this week, and my biological father is about 48. The guy at the party was just shocked that I knew any music before 2000. It was like, "what do you think my parents listened to?" Haha.

His interpretation of a modern 20-something guy was pretty hilarious. "Duuuude!"

And when I meet people of that generation, born between 1965 and 1970, who aren't my parents, they actually seem pretty hip and with it, with their iPhones and travels and good clothes. (Things we Millennials can kiss goodbye.) But of course one's own parents are never "cool," even if they're young.

All the elementary kids would tell me how handsome my dad was. It was embarrassing at the time, but it was true. My boyfriend is older now. O_o

There's always a story. But it boils down to not finding the right woman till 35. He dated another girl off and on for about 2 years, but it just wasn't working out. He finally broke up with her. Right after that Yellow's mom's dad, who was very spiritually in tune, told Yellow's mom that he felt strongly that something had changed and that her eternal companion was on the path to look for her. She was dating another guy (or maybe started to date him after that point? I don't know the chronology.) who turned out to be Yellow's dad's roommate. They (and a bunch of friends) did an overnight activity at a cabin where Mom's boyfriend (Dad's roommate) ended up getting sick and going to bed early. Mom and Dad starting talking and ended up talking late into the night on the stairs. Roommate got out of bed to use the bathroom, walked by and saw them on the stairs and thought, "Well, there goes that girlfriend." Went to the bathroom and went back to bed. Mom and Dad started dating (and Roommate stayed really good friends with them both to this day! I actually heard his side of the story at our wedding reception when I met him) and they got married and are still living happily ever after.

TMI, but there's usually a good chance I'm just wearing Spanx under my costumes unless there are pants involved.

I have to wear pantyhose for the show I'm currently in. I HATE PANTYHOSE. But they're the only way wearing fishnets is bearable.
