In the last week, I have had 4 friends or family members announce pregnancies, 3 of whom are expecting a first child and (a different) 3 of whom are expecting after a period of infertility. My knitting needles will be busy!

Well, I bought some Seychelles brown boots from Gilt, and they seem to be holding up to a very harsh, early winter, although my muscular calves makes zipping them an interesting exercise in finger strength. I have a student who identifies as Germanic Pagan. I don't think she believes in the literal reality of the Norse god of thunder, but she does wear a hammer of Thor necklace in the same way that others of my students wear crucifixes.
