Car resolution:

Toyota will take care of it for me! All except a $200 deductible, which while more expensive than free, is less than a tenth of what I would have been stuck with otherwise. I'm feeling pretty lucky.

This is stuck in my head after reading this part of Concorde's answer - You can and will do great things if you look at the bright side of things

And in continuing Portia is a 1950s Housewife adventures, I went to a "Pinterest party" at the library today, and it was tons of fun. Like a secular homemaking.

I still don't know what sport you're talking about.
The Epistler was quite honestly knocked on her ethereal behind by the sheer logic of this.

Portia, you and I really need to hang out sometime. I wore hot pink lipstick today and it was fantastic. I also blogged about my grandmotherliness earlier this week because I was knitting, going to the eye doctor, and ordering things from Land's End.

But, to be fair, Land's End is great.

It is (as I sit here wearing my dress from said order), but it does make me feel a little old lady-y.

Yeah! I'm back in town for a week from the 4th through 11th. Then after Christmas, too.

I have hot pink lipstick. I don't know if it suits my complexion, but it's fun. My sister likes that brand a lot.

Put out an ad for a designer to revamp my resume. Got a sample that included lipstick prints.

Interesting. The hammer of Thor Mjölnir is one of the available emblems of belief for placement on government headstones and markers. I wonder how many people believe in the literal reality of the Norse god of thunder.

In the last week, I have had 4 friends or family members announce pregnancies, 3 of whom are expecting a first child and (a different) 3 of whom are expecting after a period of infertility. My knitting needles will be busy!

Remember last year when I was thinking about buying knee-high boots? Well, I bought some Seychelles brown boots from Gilt, and they seem to be holding up to a very harsh, early winter, although my muscular calves makes zipping them an interesting exercise in finger strength. Next year, I'll have to get black or gray.

I have a student who identifies as Germanic Pagan. I don't think she believes in the literal reality of the Norse god of thunder, but she does wear a hammer of Thor necklace in the same way that others of my students wear crucifixes.
