That is a fine vote. But then you have to tell us what to name Dragon Baby 2.0 (who is still just a twinkle in my eye, not an actual entity as of yet). (And I'd rather not go with the 2.0 thing. Not only is it long, but I don't want to have to start calling my kids by numbers. Who, other than me (well, and Yellow), will remember which kid is which?)
I guess I'm also voting towards promoting Dragon Baby to Dragon Toddler, although I agree with you that having a new Dragon Baby would make things confusing. Perhaps Dragon Baby / Toddler / Girl should keep her Dragon modifier, and you can think of a new modifier for the next one. (Yellow Baby would work for a boy in terms of being named after the father, although there's nothing about the name that suggests it couldn't work for a girl, as well. Or you could use the other half of your name and go for "Lady Baby" if you have another girl. And the 3rd (4th?) child can be Niffler Baby! :D)

I think you need to set up a Twitter account and tweet every 15 minutes about the exact state of your feelings regarding baby 2.0. It's the only way to make sure we're perpetually up to date. ;)

I, for one, would even go so far as to turn on phone updates for such an Twitter account. That's how invested I am in this.

I could just do it in here, since you're the ones so interested. ;)

And Katya, thus far, I love your idea. Dragon Baby, Dragon Toddler, Dragon Girl, Dragonette, etc. Just having a different identifier for each child. Ok, this is by far my favorite idea.

Everyone else, this is your last chance to steal Katya's thunder!

I dunno- it doesn't sound very safe to steal the thunder of the patron saint of the board . . . it might end up being like stealing fire from the gods . . .

I'm pretty sure Prometheus ended up just fine....

Anyway, the only thing I'd worry about with Katya's suggestion is keeping all the dragonisms straight. I prefer the George Foreman method.

....Dragonbaby one, Dragonbaby two, Dragonbaby three, Dragonbaby four...

Just bringing up this thread again since it seems to be relevant again.

So, I think Dragon Baby will always be Dragon Baby. So it's 2.0 that needs a name. A girl name. Ready, go.

I take it "Yellow Baby" is a boy's name? Do you want to repurpose your other alias(es)?

Hmmm… that seems logical that Yellow Baby would be a boy. I could repurpose other aliases, but would people recognize them as me? Your options are as follows: Niffler, Tabitha, and technically DLab and Lady Bug. But the former I never used as a writer and the latter only briefly. For that matter, Tabitha was only used briefly. So, uh, really the only real option is Niffler.

I like "Niffler Baby." :)

Another option would be some sort of variation on a theme. So whatever was the source for the nickname Dragon Lady, pick something else from that set. (It was "Dragon Lady of Japan," right? So pick another Japanese symbol?)

And then you can do "Yellow Baby," "Orange Baby," etc. for all the boys. ;)

Maybe we could go with other mythical creatures? Maybe with a Harry Potter theme? So: Dragon Baby, Centaur Baby, Mandrake Baby (for a particularly colicky one), etc.

[snort] Ok, I kind of love this. And I'm giggling heartily at the Mandrake Baby because I know full well that Yellow got that from playing Lego Harry Potter and those horrible screeching mandrakes.

Or we could go with specific types of dragons... Hungarian Horntailed Baby, Chinese Fireball Baby, Common Welsh Green Baby (um... okay?), etc.

I like this plan.
