As soon as I saw that typo in the question, I knew were were going to get an answer along those lines, but Eirene's response far surpassed anything I could have imagined.

You know, those answers make a lot more sense now. That's what I get for skimming!

About time, P.D. Kirke! I was starting to worry you'd let Anne C. just ship questions out to you.

(I'm a big P.D. Kirke fan. But I can't believe it's been two years already...)

This question had perfect timing for me. I just got a Kindle Fire on Friday, and I was really excited to put it to use. I finished A Short Stay in Hell (that was a really different read - what a frightening hell) and am halfway through Machine of Death. So I know that the "what are some good books I should read?" question comes up in the Board periodically and is always answered well, but I just wanted to say that I, for one, got use out of this version. And will continue to do so. I am really happy that I can read a book now while I nurse, rather than just staring into space or watching junk on TV for 20 minutes every couple of hours. Holding a book open with one hand and trying to turn pages never worked well for me.

^^^^^^^ Yeah, I liked that one a lot too. I put all of those books on my ever-growing reading list. :)

Yeah, I liked that list as well, especially since there were Spanish books. I've been looking for some Spanish book recommendations for a while. :D

Despite being a "hardcore feminist," I found this hilarious.

I really liked Mico's answer to that one. So much so that I actually went to all the effort of copying and pasting the link in here, which is something that I'm usually way too lazy to do.

If anyone would like to watch the video, here's a source. It's been taken down from YouTube.

No, it's still there: http://youtu.be/Ym0jXg-hKCI (but it might be "unlisted" now, which means you need a direct link to see it).

The link in the Board question wasn't working for me, at least.

I appreciated Eirene's answer to this question. I think that focusing on the results or effects of an action instead of on the action itself betrays a subtlety of judgement that I am trying to emulate, myself.

Yeah, I thought that Kirke's response was too black and white and heavy-handed. I think he's still set in the mission us vs. them mentality.

Mmm, I seem to remember him being pretty black-and-white before the mish, too.

I'm pretty sure that any answer which uses the word "photochromism" is guaranteed a thumbs up from me.

I liked the answers to this too, but really I just posted this here so I could go, high five, past me! I didn't even remember saying this, and I don't think it was a serious prediction. But still!
