Well, that's part of why we added the last week/month/quarter/year options; those are far more likely to remain dynamic and interesting.TheAnswerIs42 wrote:Oh, I never thought you were being a mean dictator about it or anything! Boy howdy am I behind on these days.
I took some initiative and chose some days that contain my favorites. Kind of randomly. I'm not sure this is the kind of thing we want at all.

Got a few more where those came from, I just decided it'd be fun to start at the oldest. Can retract if we want to start more recently.
Edit: My grammar is atrocious in this post! Curse you, internet, for Causing me not to Care about Comma splices anymore.

These are great, but I actually think we should start a separate thread for them. (They're still part of the greater goal of making the stats more interesting, but I think the favorites thread would be a lot more fun to browse separately.) I've copied these over to a separate thread.I took some initiative and chose some days that contain my favorites. Kind of randomly. I'm not sure this is the kind of thing we want at all.

Plus, I'm going to ask for the ability to view the top 10 within any time frame, at some point. Re: Making the stats more interesting
I'm pretty sure that was in our plans, actually (at least going down to the month level); it was just easier to do the way it is now, first, and then go back later and change it if we still wanted to.Katya wrote:Plus, I'm going to ask for the ability to view the top 10 within any time frame, at some point. Re: Making the stats more interesting
Another option, if you're just looking to get a scattered distribution of "likes" throughout the archives, is to just use the "I'm Board" link a few times and rate each of those. It's not going to give you as much as rating everything for a month, but it would be more than nothing, anyway.
Re: Making the stats more interesting
That's a good idea. For me, though, it's easier to rate things if I have other questions and answers to compare them to. (Of course, I could always open two tabs and click "I'm Board" on both of them.)Yellow wrote:Another option, if you're just looking to get a scattered distribution of "likes" throughout the archives, is to just use the "I'm Board" link a few times and rate each of those. Every once in a while I think about how we had such ambitions for this thread.

I don't even remember this thread...
The Epistler was quite honestly knocked on her ethereal behind by the sheer logic of this.
