Okay, Rifka's counts for limes.

Also, I guess No more peaches.

Here's who's still in, I guess.

Defy V
Dead Cat
Rifka
Katya

Miss anyone? (Sorry I wasn't doing this at first. I didn't even think of it until yesterday when I was all, "Encore rounds were less confusing before.")

"Oh my darling, oh my darling, oh my darling Clementine"

-"Oh My Darling, Clementine"

(A clementine is a type of orange, but I fully accept if you think this is too much of a stretch to count.)

I'll let you keep it, Katya.

Also, it's been brought to my attention that some berries grow on trees. You can use those. It is only non-tree fruits that are not allowed, like raspberries, grapes, tomatoes, strawberries, etc.

Red and yellow and pink and green, purple and orange and blue. I can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow too.

(Does that count?)

I'm not sold. If I let it count it'd be quite the "one of these things is not like the others" trick.

Fair enough. I just thought that it was worth a shot, especially if you let Clementine pass (since the song Clementine is about a girl, not an orange). I'll keep brainstorming.

Huh, for some reason I wasn't really expecting to win this one. I've had an idea bouncing around in my head for the next round, but with my history of managing Encore, I'd appreciate it if someone else did that job before my despotic tendencies get the best of me again. And maybe have a ratification here before the new thread starts.

Basically, my idea comes from Strong Bad. Namely, the quoted lyrics must pass off na na's, la la's, or doot doo's as legit lyrics. Said nonsense lyrics, of course, do not count towards the eight-word requirement, so "Feed the Childrens" would not be considered a viable song choice.

So, what do you think? Yay? Nay? Restrictions?

Can you give some examples? (I'm not familiar enough with Strong Bad to know what you're talking about.)

Here are some examples, I think.

OK, so you have to have some nonsense words in the lyrics, but you also have to have at least 8 real words?

Yes, exactly.

Are we going to start a new thread for that or just do it here?

New thread! (But the theme-picker traditionally starts the thread . . .)

Do I need to make it all official and everything?

Dead Cat is the winner of the Tree Fruits round of Encore, and may I say I've been very impressed with all of you. She can start up her new thread anytime!
