Improv Everywhere (?) Ish.

Post by wryness »

And with that descriptive and specific title, I'd like to ask the following questions to everyone in general:

1) Are you familiar with Improv Everywhere?
(If your answer is "no," please refer to http://improveverywhere.com/ for some great fun. I recommend watching "Frozen Grand Central," "Synchronized Swimming," "Cell Phone Symphony," "Spontaneous Musicals," and "Human Mirror" for starters.)

2) Would you - speaking in the most hypothetical sense possible - be interested in participating in a similar group if one was organized in your own area?

3) Do you think you'd be good at such a group? (i.e. being a good actor, able to keep composure, etc.)

4) If you were part of such a group, what kind of skills do you think you could lend to the group, besides acting-related ones? (Maybe video camera skills, technical skills, etc.)

I'm just curious. Curiouser, even, to know if anyone is a member of such a group wherever you live. (I'm so curious, in fact, that for the moment I've quite forgotten how to speak good English.)

1. YES! I have been reading/following them since high school.

2. Yes!

3. No. I break character, laugh, and giggle when nothing is funny.

4. I could totally be a photographer in the background.

You are curious indeed.

Actually, take it back--my answer to #4 is no.

1. No, but now I have a new way to waste time laughing at my computer screen when I should be cleaning my house. Wow, that thing is awesome.
2-3. I would love to say yes, but I have a feeling I would be cracking up with mic0. I would love to try though.
4. I am a decent photographer.

Yes to all, although the only skill I can contribute is having worked on a professional broadcasting crew.

And it came to pass that I, Dead Cat, was familiar with the teachings of Improv Everywhere. And I rejoiced in it with such great gladness that I too wished to partake in it's glory. And now I, Dead Cat, have not yet partaken of the fruit of the Tree of Improv, for I do greatly fear that I would be the cause of much destruction. Nevertheless, as I wrestled within myself, I was comforted by the knowledge that I could do much in ways that are not of great speaking, for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue. And I, Dead Cat, make an end of my writing. Werfren, adieu.

1. Yes
2. Already a member
3. Of course!
4. During the Snuggie craze, I wanted to get a ton of people (200-300) to scatter themselves throughout the Wilk and, at a designated time, put on either a red or blue Snuggie. The Wilk would soon become the ring for the most epic Snuggie battle in history. Okay, maybe not so funny...but I still want to see a Snuggie-clad brawl.
