ethics of temple parking

Moral/ethical question: I don't have parking at my work, so I always take the bus. My work is only a few blocks from the temple, so I could theoretically walk there after work and then come home on the bus or train. I don't like doing this, though, since public transit gets kind of sketchy at night. On one occasion I parked in the temple parking lot in the morning and went to work, then went to the temple after work and used the voucher for temple patrons to get free parking for the full day. But I worried that maybe this was somewhat dishonest, so I haven't done it since then. Any opinions?

1. Is the temple low on parking? (I.e., is it likely that anyone else couldn't find parking because you were there all day?)

2. Does parking in the lot all day make it significantly easier for you to go to the temple?

If your answers are "no" and "yes," I wouldn't worry about it. Alternately, you could ask the people at the front desk how they feel about the situation.

My friend is a temple worker and her car was recently broken into in the temple parking lot. They smashed the back window and took everything in her car. That was at the Jordan River temple. That would be my only worry with leaving my car there all day (though I don't know how common it is to have your car broken into at the temple).

Thanks for the advice. Maybe I'll ask the front desk people next time, since I have no idea how crowded the lot usually is during the day.
