I've been making some of my gifts for Christmas. I can't show them off on Facebook because the people I'm giving them to are on there. So as I get finished, I'm going to show them off here. Because apparently I need social affirmation when I do something cool and texting it to my mom and sister just isn't enough.
Project #1 - Hero in a half shell:
(Please ignore the angle of this photo that makes my forehead look ginormous.)
(Note: I'm considering adding ties to the back to make it more legit. We'll see if my time/energy agrees.)
... I think I have one without me smiling. But it's at home and I am not. Now I need to go look and see... In a few more days.
Also, I have pictures of my other two homemade presents that make me happy (except one that kind of failed and I need to fix it/remake part of it) but they're also at home.
I got my not-boyfriend the remastered White Album on vinyl, a cool piece of wall art that's the Austin, TX skyline (he just moved from there and misses it), and a Ruby Slippers ornament (loves Wizard of Oz). Got my pregnant BFF the same ornament and am getting her a "Broadway Baby" onesie! Got my other good friend Naked 3 palette and a pretty lipgloss from MAC. Got my seester a NARS lipstick that Taylor Swift wears. I think she's getting me a record player (?) which is crazy because she's in college and shouldn't spend that much money on me.
Not sure what to get for my parents. I guess I'll keep my eyes peeled!
Got my boyfriend a copy of his favorite book in Chinese (he's learning Chinese), I'm knitting him a scarf, and I did some other corny inside joke things. Still figuring out what I'm getting everyone else...
This is a crochet pith helmet! Someone showed me one of these over Thanksgiving and I REALLY NEEDED TO MAKE ONE for my best friend JoJo's fiance.

And these are some of the 10+ snowflake ornaments I've made for my department at school. They (the snowflakes, not the coworkers) are covered in glitter glue and pinned in shape to dry.

And this is a super-fancy hat I learned to make! This one is for my sister-in-law.
