short contracts
short contracts
Well. I am leaving Provo permanently in December, and will not want to deal with the hassle of selling a contract being far away. I have heard rumors that on-campus housing (Wyview would be preferred at this point in my BYU career) is usually reasonable about letting you out of your contract if you're graduating and/or going on a mission. Any other places that operate on a semester-, not a year-long, basis?

Wyview has upperclassman reserved housing, so it's not all just freshmen. And on-housing is VERY accommodating. I had a friend who lived in the dorms with me who was released from his contract in mid-March so that he could go on a mission; if they're willing to let you out in the middle of the month, they're probably willing to let you out at the end of a semester.

Well, thanks. Since I am quite sure that this "long-distance" will involve a mission, yeah, probably not happening. So you won't pull a Katya and write long distance from the Board? Sadness. You will be greatly missed.
Unless, y'know, my mission president is okay with that . . . it's a worthy cause, right?

Oh. Understood. Have you turned in your papers or have you received your call yet? Will you tell us when you do?Portia wrote:Well, thanks. Man, such premature mourning! No, my birthday's in January, so I couldn't turn my papers in until October, but that is definitely what I am planning for.Anti-SARRMM wrote:Oh. Understood. And I have a bad habit of accidentally editing people's posts when I mean to quote them (the button is the same size!), which requires un-editing, so if parts of your posts are gone (something about a victory dance?), I apologize; feel free to re-post.

Nah, the dance has been spoiled, to try and initiate such humor again as small victory dances from 50 First Dates would be futile. So I'll leave it at that.Portia wrote:

I don't know about semester based places but you can look here and here to see comparative rent costs.Portia wrote: So. Back to the original questions . . . any other semester-based, or month-based, BYU-approved places?
