Re: Obamacare
I think it's worth pointing out that because chronic illnesses can impact work and personal finances, sick people have the most trouble keeping up consistent insurance coverage. It's common to end up in a catch-22 situation where you get sick, lose your job, lose your insurance from your job, and th...

My uncle was so short that my grandparents took him to the doctor when he was 17 or 18. They said everything was fine. He had a growth spurt in his early 20s and now he's like 6 feet tall.

I voted June 18 but I'm a for sure yes for any weekend. Actually, July 2 is more of a maybe because I can't guarantee that we won't make a spur of the moment trip to the in-laws for the long weekend.

DO NOT MOVE WHILE PREGNANT.
I didn't even do any of the heavy lifting and my back has never hurt this badly. Basically all I did was deep-clean the apartment and direct the people who showed up to help.

Re: Obamacare
Doctors in Canada spend about 1 h/wk on paperwork, as opposed to the 18 h/wk that American doctors spend.

Right now I have a $2 stretchy ring because my fingers are pregnant. I definitely agree that a ring shouldn't be expensive unless the couple wants that.

I think we've all been there where you're riding high and it's like, why not buy X, we're doing fine, and then when low times hit you look back and wonder, what was I thinking buying X,Y, and Z? If I hadn't spent that money then, I'd have it now. And then you're sitting at home browsing the Interne...

I feel like it's kind of like birth control - the Church used to discourage it and now they're like, yeah, pray about it and make your own choice.

I think that when income directly correlates to spare time, it's common for the spouse with less income to take on more chores. But there are other non-income-generating things that take time, like school or small children, that make a difference for every couple.

Well, the whole thing also just perpetuates the false idea that assaults are likely to occur at the hands of a stranger, even though most victims know their attacker. But as soon as you know your attacker, people start questioning whether it was REALLY assault, because like, you were friends, right?

So my husband and I are homeless for about 18 hours due to differences in apartment contracts (our landlord wants us out by the 31, our new landlord can't move us in until the afternoon of the 1st). We've looked for storage units for our stuff but ALL the local storage units are full, so we're think...

Personally, it's the sort of answer that I think needs to be approved on a case-by-case basis, rather than having a blanket policy. Which makes alumni week difficult because there are just so many cases in so little time.

Can Candid Non-Canadian just please stop with the passive-aggressive attacks on my country's culture or maybe just leave if he/she finds Canada so weird and distasteful all the time? And good grief, hemp is not illegal in the US. You can grow it with a permit in a lot of states and import it for us...

Re: mission timing
Geez, people are so ridiculously judgmental about when people go on a mission. It's one of my pet peeves. I wish everyone would just trust people to pray and make their own decision. I think there are a lot of situations where God knows that a person needs certain experiences before their mission, o...
